Zhejiang Province
Zhejiang Province (in simplified Chinese 浙江省) is located at the eastern coastal
of China. It is called Zhejiang because the river twists and turns many times.
In Chinese Zhe has that meaning, and jiang represents river. Therefore, this
comes the name of the province.
In Zhejiang Province, there are various types of minerals which contribute to
the manufacturing industries of the Province. The storage of minerals like stone
coal, alunite, pyrophyllite, etc, in Zhejiang Province ranks the first in the
whole country. Besides, the petroleum resources in this Province are very rich.
There are a lot of stations in the sea to extract oil as well as natural gas.
On the other hand, there are also a lot of different kinds of animals found in
this Province. There are a lot of zoos in Zhejiang, making Zhejiang very famous
for rare animals. In fact, these animals are very important to the development
of Zhejiang Province. With these animals, Zhejiang is able to develop tourism
and attracts many tourists to visit this province.
In fact, Zhejiang is one of the fastest-growing provinces of China. It is also
one of the four provinces which have the largest total economic output. Since
1994, the total GDP ranking of this Province is the fourth in the country. The
total GDP of Zhejiang Province in 1978 was quite high among the provinces in
China already because it got the ranking as the 12th. In 1994, the GDP ranking
has reached the fourth. In 1991, the provinces GDP reached 100 Billion dollars.
In 2004, the GDP exceeded 1 trillion yuan and in 2008, it has reached 2 trillion
yuan. From these figures, it is very obvious that the province is developing
very rapidly and there are a lot of potential for the province to grow in the
foreseeable future.
In the future, it is expected that Zhejiang Province would try to develop more
on tourism and it would also try to develop its secondary industry in order to
maintain the rapid growth of the tertiary industry. |
